Welcome to the Workshop 2012 Conference Schedule. This is where you can learn about all of the presentations and learning opportunities at Workshop. You can create your schedule by selecting the sessions you are interested in participating in. Your selection is not a reservation for that session, but rather, a simply way for you to create and view the sessions you hope to attend.
The Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission (HCESC) started the program of "outsourcing" teacher assistants as a way to offer most cost effective programming for its member districts. This session will provide the attendees with a step-by-step process to ensure success in a transition to the program. Topics covered will include: issues that must be resolved before beginning, the contract between the HCESC and a board of education; the number of positions and types of classrooms; initial interviews, the offer of employment, the orientation to the HCESC and to the contracted district; professional development; communication regarding employees’ performance; evaluation of employees; addressing needs, concerns and successes of the program; and reports to the board and to community members.
